(Photo credit: Lisa Scherr) Pacific Sunwear (NASDAQ: PSUN) received backlash for displaying a t-shirt with an inverted American flag on a black background during Memorial Day weekend. According to Time, a picture of the shirt on display in Foley, Alabama went viral causing a social media uproar of users exclaiming the shirt was "disrespectful" to veterans. Many of these users sharing the post vowed to boycott the brand. Pac Sun issued a statement on its Facebook page stating, “Out of respect for those who have put their lives on the line for our country, we have decided to stop selling the licensed flag t-shirt and are removing it from our stores and website immediately.” The brand also followed this statement by thanking all those who serve in uniform.
