Delta (NYSE: DAL) requested approval from the addition of a new international flight route between San Paulo, Brazil and Orlando. According to USA Today, if the plan is approved, the flights will be serviced with Boeing 767-300 aircraft that seat 35 in the carrier's "Delta One" business class cabin and 175 in economy cabin. The route launch will begin December 19 with four flights a week. This proposal is important because the route will take advantage of Delta's partnership with Brazilian carrier GOL. According to USA Today, Delta's proposed Orlando to Sao Paulo route comes after increasing competition in the Brazilian market from Azul Airlines. For more business and financial news, click here.
