Kroger Co.(NYSE: KR) recalled four of its Kroger brand spices due to salmonella contamination. According to USA Today, these specific items include: Kroger Ground Cinnamon, Garlic Powder, Coarse Ground Black Pepper and Bac'n Buds. The recalled items are sold at Kroger and its system stores including old in retail stores in Jay C., Dillons,King Soopers, Fry's, Fred Meyer, Ralphs, Food 4 Less and Smiths. They possibly hit the shelves in retail stores throughout Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia and West Virginia. The contaminated sample of Kroger Garlic Powder was found and tested by the FDA in a store in North Augusta, South Carolina. USA Today reports that no illnesses have been reported yet, but the company has recalled the four seasonings produced using the same equipment during the same period of time for precausion.
