This summer Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) will release YouTube Gaming, a mobile app and website for video game videos and live streaming. According to the New York Times, this new venture will be in direct competition with Amazon’s ( NASDAQ: AMZN) popular video game streaming site Twitch. YouTube already has thousands upon thousands of gaming videos like demos and instructionals; however, with the new specialized app users will be able to access this type of content much quicker. NYT states that gaming is the latest “verticals” which Google uses applications as focused, stand-alone services that better fit the consumer world that uses phones to access content.
