Delta Airlines Lines (NYSE: DAL) is updating its frequent-fliers programs to give select customers the ultimate flying experience. According to USA Today, this update will allow fliers to switch from commercial flights to private jets. This is how Delta’s new process will work. Only a select few fliers who hold the elite “Medallion” status will be eligible for the upgrade. These customers who are considered “high-valued” will receive notice of the upgrade option at least 24 hours before their scheduled flight. The program may start as early as this week with upgrades will costing customers $300 to $800 dollars. These flights will fly out of Delta’s hubs in Atlanta, New York, and Cincinnati. USA Today reports that the goal of the change is to reposition and promote their premium brand image. For more travel and financial news, click here.
